Claire started her Duke Campus Farm career as a volunteer at community work days. She quickly found that being on the farm made her happy like no other place and visited whenever she could. She especially enjoys biking to the farm when the weather is nice. Now that she is on field crew, she is excited to get a deep dive in growing food on a small, low-till sustainable ag farm. She wants to learn to grow her own food so she can always start a community garden anywhere she ends up. She is a rising junior at Duke studying environmental science, and she spends most of her time outside of class organizing on campus for immigration and labor justice with the Sunrise Movement. When she is not at school or organizing, she loves hiking, camping, painting and reading.
